Welcome to the Wanneroo Sofcrosse Modcrosse Club
This junior sports club is for girls and boys aged 5 to 13 in the Western Australia cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo that want to play junior versions of Lacrosse.
Lacrosse is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse — the big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Agility and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men's and women's lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball.
The club offers 2 junior versions of Lacrosse, Sofcrosse and Modcrosse with both being non contact and played by combined teams of girls and boys. Modcrosse and Sofcrosse have modified rules from those found in Lacrosse, with Sofcrosse being the most modified to allow it to be a great introduction for the younger player to Lacrosse. Sofcrosse is for 5 to 8 year olds. We offer 2 competitions in Modcrosse, Under 11s for 8 to 11 year olds and under 13s for 11 to 13 year olds. Modcrosse builds into a faster and more exciting game as the skills of the players grow. Interested in knowing more, you can download our 2008 flyer.
If you are older but from what you've read you are interested in Lacrosse, you can find more links on our web links area or for our local club Wanneroo Warriors Lacrosse Club
